Why we ship from Southern California and use USPS Priority
Most of the conversation in the research compound market is about testing and purity. That s appropriate. It s the most important variable. But there s a second quality dimension that almost nobody talks about: what happens to your compound during shipping.
Most of the conversation in the research compound market is about testing and purity. That’s appropriate. It’s the most important variable. But there’s a second quality dimension that almost nobody talks about: what happens to your compound during shipping.
Lyophilized peptides, freeze-dried powder in sealed glass vials, are more stable than reconstituted solutions. But they’re not indestructible. Extended heat exposure, particularly in the 40 to 60 degree Celsius range that black mail trucks and warehouse loading docks routinely hit in summer, accelerates degradation. A compound that tested at 99% HPLC purity when it left our facility can degrade in a meaningful way over several days bouncing around in a hot delivery vehicle.
Here’s how we approach this. Every order ships Monday through Friday from our Southern California facility via USPS Priority Mail, which means 2 to 3 day domestic transit. We don’t use economy shipping or ground transport because extended transit time in variable temperature conditions isn’t worth the cost savings.
Shipping from Southern California also means orders headed to the West Coast, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, typically arrive next business day without needing expedited shipping. For researchers who need material quickly, geography matters more than people realize.
We don’t use third-party fulfillment. Every order is packed by us. The lot numbers are verified against the COA before the box closes. The packing slip inside lists the lot number for every vial in the order. If something arrives damaged, photograph it and email support@anvilcompounds.com within 48 hours. We replace damaged material at no cost and don’t ask for the damaged vial back.
None of this is complicated. It’s operational discipline applied consistently. The goal is simple: what you ordered arrives in the condition it was in when it left our facility. That’s it.
